Mission

Transitioning from service is one of the single most pivotal moments in a service member’s life. Poor planning and execution can lead to lack of meaningful employment, no access to healthcare, substance abuse, divorce, homelessness and possibly suicide, as evidenced by statistics from the Department of Veteran’s affairs and Housing and Urban Development.

With greater commitment to service and a higher optempo, health often gets sidelined. It’s not surprising when a service member separates from service to find they have no injuries or illnesses documented in their medical record. This shortcoming can create several problems when separating from service, most notably when submitting a VA Claim. Many veterans fall victim to a feedback loop with the VA that can extend years into the veteran lifecycle. The frustration is real when you must explain how your back pain is related to static line jumps or rucking 20 miles, yet still receive a ‘not service-connected’ rating for lower back pain.

The barriers associated with transitioning from service are widely unknown and are uniquely stressful, but they don’t have to be.

Our view is that the transition planning process should be met with equal parts excitement and aggression. Zero Nexxus helps you manage the transition process by establishing priorities of work and timelines. Further management of the transition process comes from a series of one-on-one consultations, email reminders, and routine follow-ups.

Clients have access to a client portal which will guide them in creating and prioritizing an injury list and tracking injury documentation. Clients can opt in to receive free additional assistance for resume writing, small business mentorship, pre-deployment guidance, Skillbridge, G.I. Bill and VR&E information.

We offer access to a senior financial investment strategist with Charles Schwab who can answer questions on how to rollover your TSP, open a new IRA, ROTH IRA or help plan for retirement.

Our consultation services focus on creating a multi-step process that helps clients identify and prioritize injuries and illnesses that require medical documentation. This is a cooperative process done by assessing a client’s occupational background and deployment history and free of any HIPPA information. We offer guidance on how to approach conversations with military providers.

Our job is not done once a client separates, there are still major tasks to complete. We will make sure you don’t lose track of any major priorities once you’ve separated.

If you have 24 months or less remaining on active duty, reach out to us.

Every consultation fee provides multiple meals to homeless veterans through the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
